Kaizen Financial Literacy 101, Inc.
Help us equip Marion County residents with the tools to reduce debt and build lasting stability.
Officially known as Kaizen Financial Literacy 101, we go by Money Prof because it's simply who we are: a professor of money.
We run workshops to help working adults build financial stability after a rough start. Many are managing debt, tight budgets, and competing priorities, often without ever having had access to financial education. Money Prof was created to change that.
We believe long-lasting stability is built through access to clear information, honest guidance, and small, practical steps people can actually follow through on. Every workshop, resource, and conversation is designed with that belief in mind.
To provide practical financial education that promotes long-term economic stability, financial confidence, and generational growth.
A future where young adults enter adulthood equipped to manage money, avoid preventable financial setbacks, and pursue their goals with confidence.
Money doesn't stretch as far as it used to, and for too many people in Marion County, that's not a passing inconvenience. It's a daily reality that shapes every decision, from rent to groceries to whether an unexpected bill becomes a crisis. Financial stress doesn't stay contained to a bank account. It affects health, relationships, and the ability to plan for anything beyond the next paycheck. This need didn't appear overnight, and it won't disappear on its own. It takes consistent, practical support to help people build a different path forward. That's the gap Money Prof exists to fill, and it's a gap your partnership helps close.
Money Prof workshops welcome anyone ready to take control of their finances, from students to retirees. But our work is shaped around one group in particular: young working adults in Marion County trying to build stability after a rough start. They're looking for someone to explain money in a way that actually applies to their real lives and a plan that fits the life they're already living.
Every Money Prof workshop is built around one goal: turning confusing financial topics into skills people can actually use. Each workshop stands on its own, but together they cover the full picture, from everyday budgeting to long-term credit health. None of it happens without a place to hold it. Your support, whether that means bringing us in, providing a space to run a workshop, or helping the work behind the scenes, is what makes these workshops possible.
Participants learn to build realistic spending plans, manage everyday expenses, and start an emergency fund. The goal is simple: habits that hold up under real financial pressure
This workshop breaks down credit reports and scores, responsible borrowing, and identity protection. Participants leave with practical strategies for building credit and keeping it healthy long term.
A practical look at checking and savings accounts, banking services, and financial safety. Participants gain the tools and confidence to manage their money effectively, day to day.
Designed for young people, this program builds healthy financial habits early. Participants explore financial responsibility and gain the confidence to make informed money decisions as they grow.
Interactive sessions delivered directly through schools, churches, and community organizations. These workshops bring financial education to where people already gather, making it accessible and easy to attend.
As Money Prof grows, we plan to expand into entrepreneurship education, homeownership readiness, financial coaching referrals, and additional community events.
Dr. Antonette McCaster has spent more than two decades translating complex financial and accounting concepts into language people understand. A Certified Public Accountant, Certified Government Financial Manager, and Senior Lecturer at Indiana University, she built Money Prof on the same belief that shapes her doctoral research: financial literacy shouldn't depend on already speaking the language of business. She's the educator behind every workshop, bringing decades of real financial leadership directly into the community.
